Mohammad Rezvanpour

Mohammad Rezvanpour completed a Master of Science in Civil (Cross-disciplinary) Engineering at the University of Alberta in 2023, co-supervised by Dr. Yuxiang Chen and Dr. Carlos Cruz-Noguez. His thesis investigated thermally activated walls as a way to reduce space heating and cooling loads in cold-climate buildings.

He studied two active thermal energy storage systems: circulating domestic cold water through a thermally massive wall to provide free cooling before the water is used in the household, and circulating zone air through the cores of a ventilated concrete block wall. Both were assessed using transient thermal simulations and annual energy analyses for cold Canadian climates.
