Location
The eSim 2024 Conference is scheduled to convene at the prestigious Fred Pheasey Conference Center, located within the Donadeo Innovation Centre for Engineering (DICE) at the University of Alberta in Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. Please see here for a more detailed map of the University campus.
Accommodations
To ensure a comfortable and convenient stay for our attendees, we offer the following accommodation options:
On-Campus Accommodation:
- Lister Centre: Immerse yourself in campus life by staying at the Lister Centre, conveniently located within walking distance to the conference venue. A block of limited rooms reserved at Lister Centre. Rooms are equipped with essential amenities, providing a comfortable and convenient option for attendees. There are two options available for rooms. The first option is $76 per night for a dormitory-style room intended for single occupancy, while the second option is $109 per night for double beds or queen-size beds. Local Hotels:
- Varscona Hotel on Whyte: Experience the charm of Edmonton by staying at the Varscona Hotel, located in the vibrant Whyte Avenue district and still within easy commuting distance to the university via a short bus ride. We have secured a special rate of $159 per night for attendees, which applies to rooms equipped with either two queen beds or one king bed. To make your reservation, simply use this booking link.
- Campus Tower Suite Hotel: Just a stone’s throw from the university, this hotel offers a mix of convenience with suite-style rooms, ensuring your stay is both comfortable and aligned with your needs.
- Mettera Hotel on Whyte: Located in the heart of the lively Old Strathcona district on Whyte Avenue, Mettera Hotel offers a unique boutique experience. Enjoy the vibrant atmosphere, diverse dining options, and entertainment just steps away from your hotel. Easily access the university via a short bus ride.
Parking
Multiple parking options are available at the University of Alberta to suit various needs and preferences. The university’s premises include several dedicated car parks, while additional street parking can be accessed through the City of Edmonton.
For those utilizing the university’s car parks, parking is conveniently facilitated through on-site parking terminals or through the HONK app. Simply enter your license plate number into one of these terminals located within the car park.
Should you choose to utilize the street parking options, it will be necessary to download the Edmonton parking application, EPark. This app will enable a streamlined process for on-street parking within the jurisdiction of the City of Edmonton.
