  • COVID impact and response in building design and operation

  • Indoor air quality and ventilation

  • Modelling and simulation of thermal, airflow, moisture, lighting, acoustics

  • Energy conversion, storage, distribution, and control systems modelling

  • Occupancy, occupant behaviour and comfort modelling

  • Uncertainty assessment, sensitivity analysis for building performance

  • Calibration of building performance simulation models

  • Building-grid interactions modelling

  • Controls-oriented modelling

  • Model-based predictive controls

  • Fault detection and diagnostics

  • Performance benchmarking and inverse modelling

  • Real-world case studies using novel aspects of building performance simulation

Submission Guidelines

At eSim 2024, we solicit two types of submissions. All submissions require In-Person presentation to be published:

  • Regular papers (maximum eight pages)
  • Notes papers (maximum four pages)

Notes papers are intended to discuss preliminary research results, present new research directions, describe new software or datasets. Notes papers are a new paper submission type to eSim to encourage young researchers and research teams entering this field of research to share their work and industry participants that may not be able to devote resources to a full paper. Notes papers will be assessed based on the novelty of ideas, potential for impact, and quality of presentation.

Submitted papers must be unpublished and not be currently under review for any other publication. Submissions must be single-spaced US Letter (8.5” x 11”) pages, including figures, tables, references and appendices. All submissions must follow the Word Template or LaTeX Template
