
Adnan Rasheed is currently a Postdoctoral Fellow in the Department of Civil and Environmental Engineering at the University of Alberta, Edmonton, Canada.
With previous experience as a Research Professor at Kyungpook National University, Daegu, South Korea, Adnan has conducted extensive research in greenhouse technology. He is working with the IDOBE group on a project investigating innovative designs for detached and building-integrated greenhouses, including community and garage-top models. The primary objective is to develop engineering concepts and designs for socially, economically, and technologically sustainable greenhouses tailored for cold-climate regions, specifically in Alberta’s cities. The focus includes optimizing greenhouse design and energy systems, with a commitment to achieving net-zero energy and emissions. Adnan’s expertise allows him to explore various research topics related to controlled environment agriculture (CEA), including greenhouse design parameters, climate control, energy analysis, renewable energy applications, energy systems, modeling and simulation, thermal modeling, energy demand optimization, control strategies, airflow modeling, and vertical farming.
